Banana Pancakes

My new favorite song... recently shared by someone who means a lot to me. The music is great and the lyrics are easy to hear and follow.

Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson

And a brief update:

Sorry, my loyal readers, I haven't been keeping up with this blog. I've been busy with the wonders of life, including training for the MS 150 and writing the book inspired by this very blog. I haven't been doing my listening exercises - I know, no excuses, I should be doing them. I have them all on my iPhone!

Anyway, I've decided to get that new hearing aid for my other ear, and I insisted on a new ear mold with softer and more comfortable material. A hearing aid is not exactly cheap. In fact, I thought I would have a heart attack when I got the price quote. But even with so little time spent wearing the loaner hearing aid, it has helped me localize some (but not all) sounds, which is huge for being able to follow group conversations. The implant helps with listening to speech in conjunction with reading lips, and the hearing aid helps me figure out who is talking in the group.

As for music, the hearing aid adds in the richness and bass that I had been used to for so long. Using a hearing aid and CI with music is like putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5.
